International Symposium on Information Technology (ITSim 2010), KLCC, 15-17 June 2010

This is the best conference I have attended so far.  This symposium has been held in Kuala Lumpur Convention Center (KLCC), from 15 to 17 June 2010. The theme is “Sustainable Informatics and Engineering: Harmonizing Human & Natural Ecosystem”.   Everything has been well organized by the Universiti Teknologi Pertonas and other co-sponsors.  Submitting and reviewing papers, uploading manuscripts and the presentation file, registration and online payment were managed by http://www.edas.info/.

One of the keynote speakers was Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, Chancellor of Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP). He delivered the speech on “Towards Sustainability: Bridging Engineering, Technology and Humanities’ in the first day.  Committee provided conference kits including a bag that fit for a 13.3″ notebook or smaller, printed and digital proceeding, souvenir and some other things.  They also offered trip to Putrajaya and UTP for free to presenters and audiences.  There were about 300 papers presented in this conference selected from more than 400 papers.  All papers are published in the conference proceeding and are included in the IEEE Xplore.

KLCC is a nice place.  Every part is always clean even so many people going around from one room to other rooms to follow interesting presentations.  Toilets praying rooms, halls, refectory and other rooms keep clean every time.  Another thing that made attendee feel satisfy was food served.  It was very delicious. After we got a sit in white rounded table and finished our main course a waiter offered a cup of tea or coffee.  Lunch and coffee break were the session I wait for in addition to paper presentations :)

UTP and co-sponsors have done a good job.. Well done.. :)
